Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some common questions we often hear. If you have any other queries don’t hesitate to get in touch.
-
We take everything into account - from the roof size and pitch, to the roof structure spacing and corrosion zone. We take all of this information and compare it with a range of manufacturers specifications to make sure the best products are selected.
-
In most cases pets are ok to go about their business as usual. If you have an outside dog, we may require it to be leashed while we work in the area. We will discuss this with you on site to ensure we have a plan that will work for all.
-
Current health and safety regulations require sufficient fall protection when working at heights. In most cases this is achieved by using scaffolding or edge protection - if this is required, we will advise you and can include it in our services.
-
All new building products that we use will come with the standard manufacturers warranty. This is typically 15 years for coloursteel roofing materials, but can be extended to 25-30 years in some circumstances depending on environmental factors and the final coating selected. We will advise you of the warranty that will apply to your roof.
-
Roofing can sometimes produce a lot of rubbish, particularly if it is a re-roof job. We will keep the site tidy at the end of each day, and remove all of the larger rubbish items, such as plastic or old roofing materials at the end of the job. We will also do our best to pick up the tiny bits of scrap that can sometimes fall onto the ground around the roof.
-
We usually don’t need access inside of your house. Sometimes we will need access inside if there is a skylight or chimney to remove.
-
The time a job will take depends on a number of factors, such as type of roof, complexity of roof arrangement, access for material delivery, time of year, and different types of flashings. We can give an estimated timeframe at the time of quoting, and we can usually allocate our resources around project specific time requirements.
